Carlos Reyes Introduces Judge Marina Garcia Wood At Recent Event

Thirty years of friendship means years of inter-connected lives, work, & community engagement.

This past month, the Broward County Hispanic Bar Association and the Broward County Bar Association joined forces to celebrate the Hispanic Judges on the bench in Broward County.  Carlos was asked to introduce The Honorable Marina Garcia Wood who co-founded the Broward County Hispanic Bar Association with him in 1989.

The BCHBA was founded as a forum for Hispanic lawyers to address issues of importance in their community.  Each of the judges spoke for a few minutes to share their journey to becoming a judge.  One common thread served as a theme throughout the evening – it was through hard work and family support they were able to achieve their goals.  Many heartwarming stories were shared and enjoyed throughout the evening and it became a wonderful time to network and visit with good friends and colleagues in the legal profession.

Carlos could not be prouder to be asked and have the opportunity to introduce his friend, Circuit Court Judge Marina Garcia Wood. She has had a tremendous career, been a persistent fighter for all sorts of causes, and now has served with distinction for many years on the bench.

We could not be prouder of her, as well as her husband, also a dear friend, Carlos A. Rodriguez, and the array of Hispanic Judges that were recognized that night – all good friends. Kudos and congrats to Marina, Carlos and all our Hispanic brethren on the bench. You, along with the entire Broward judiciary, make “the Rule of Law” – which serves our nation – a reality. Thank you all for serving with professionalism and distinction.

Thirty years later, Marina remains an inspiration to Carlos, Nancy, and many in our community. God bless her always.
